The provincial government should not proceed with district proposal for midtown without input from the local community. This will be a huge mistake for the town of Oakville, Halton region, GTA and the province. Setting a terrible precedence for future development in Ontario. Read more

The TOC proposal for mid town Oakville is way too dense. The traffic at the intersection of Cornwall & Traffalgar is already a nightmare at rush hour. I'm really disappointed in the province for ramming this through without listening to the Town.

I am incredibly unhappy with the Province’s decision to override the Town of Oakville’s wishes for the development of the lands at Trafalgar Road and Cross Avenue. We elect our town council because they adhere to the wishes of the residents. Read more

This is unacceptable. Oakville residents have already protested, our town council voted unanimously to oppose this project and Oakville planning staff issued an 88-page report concluding that the 6,900 condo units represented excessive density with few community benefits. Read more

The Oakville TOC and the proposal to issue an MZO on behalf of the developer, Distrikt Development, is nonsense and totally in opposition to the official plan approved by the Town for the Midtown property. There is no condominium market at the present or likely in the midterm future. Read more

The TOC proposal for Midtown Oakville is excessive. By contrast, the Town's OPA is the result of massive, iterative input from residents, professionals and various agencies. It more than meets the density and job targets the province seeks while aligning with the Town's Official Plan. Read more

This is a huge mistake. Big huge colossal mistake. I have lived in Oakville for 5 years and I take the GO Train to get to work downtown. From 3-7pm Trafalgar and cross ave is an absolute nightmare. No consideration was given in designing this go train and how packed the roads are. Read more

I would rather see fewer buildings and a better architectural finish.Too often these buildings end upare eyesore slapped up with cheap materials that never age well .Condominiums on Randall have the right idea built with vision from the start and proper landscape design. If you develop this land ma Read more

I have been following this whole process quite closely for several years. It is clear to me that MZO approval for this project is absolutely the wrong way to go. Read more

This is going to absolutely a dreadful project Oakville is a town not a city. The zoning laws for this project of 11 towers we do not have the infrastructure, go train users will not be able to get out of the parking lot and make turns on trafalgar. Read more

Unfortunately, our local infrastructure is not prepared for this. Schools are already operating at or near capacity, healthcare services are limited, and local hospitals and clinics are unable to take on such a dramatic increase in residents. We respectfully request that the city: Read more

I have lived in Oakville since 1985 and have seen rapid growth but your plan is beyond belief. I already find that area to be congested and cannot imagine adding so many more people. This is again a misuse of your power and more evidence of favours to friends.

I truly don't understand why the plan is for 11 huge towers of condos (!) when the GTA condo market is in free fall. We don't need thousands more tiny skyboxes, we need liveable options beyond this starter condo mentality - more family-friendly and community-focused options. Read more

I am not in Support of this plan. The density is too high. Town of oakville has already made a better proposal that should be looked at. I have concerns about how pedestrians and bicycles will be able to connect with the lake and public parks and Kerr Street. Read more

These buildings will be like termite mounds. Has anyone involved in this process been to Europe see what responsible and sustainable urban planning looks like? This dystopian abomination will be even worse than the mess Toronto has allowed at Humber Bay. Read more

I am strongly opposed to the TOC proposal. It will ruin our neighbourhood and make us another Mississauga ugly eyesore. Have you not sat at the corner of Trafalgar and Cross Ave during rush hour? Where are you proposing all of the extra cars will go when this community is built? Read more

This is a poorly thought out development. Traffic is already horrendous in the area and with this level of development, the existing gridlock will be even worse.
