Buildings that are skyscrapers are not appropriate for a community outside of our large urban cities. In Oakville we need more low-rise affordable housing in walkable hubs where food retail and services are co-located not congested high rise towers that crush the capacity of the infrastructure.

Has anyone done the math? The highest density in the world exists in Macau, China and is 200 people per hectare. The 56-storey high rises they are proposing for Oakville works out to 2500 people per hectare…….over 10 times any other existing area!

The proposed TOC for Oakville is gut wrenching to Oakville residents who have concerns about traffic, environment, healthcare, employment, crime and infrastructure.

As a resident of Oakville for over 20 years I disagree with the plan to add 11 towers, which would be between 45 and 56 storeys to the mid town area around the Oakville Go Train station.

Oakville needs sensible and gentle density in the area around mid-town Oakville.
As a resident of Oakville, the plan proposed by the Town of Oakville is the right one for those who will be impacted most - residents of Oakville.

Hello. Regarding the Midtown development in Oakville, I’d like to begin with the acknowledgment that the vast majority of residents in Oakville understand that we need to increase density. It is the Ontario vision of the Midtown that we disagree with.

This proposal needs to be rejected. Oakville's OPA 70 already reflects a careful balance between transit-oriented intensification and the physical constraints of Midtown, including rail corridors and limited connectivity.

Imposition of an MZO on the Town of Oakville to force the TOC developments as planned will place undue stress on traffic flows, other transportation modalities, infrastructure, amenities such as schools and parks, and the surrounding areas around the development in an entirely negative way.

Using an MZO to grant one developer excessive density does not build housing faster - it short-circuits the planning to no benefit for the residents now or in the future
This proposal is unmitigated madness. Midtown Oakville cannot support the weight of this development. It will result in the destruction of the area and make it unliveable for citizens. Nobody will want to live in such a densely filled place - the traffic alone will be unsupportable.

I strongly object to the province’s TOC plans for midtown Oakville. The province and profit driven developers should not ride roughshod over the wishes of Oakville residents. We accept the need for higher densities in the area surrounding the Oakville Go Station.

Please allow the Town of Oakville’s plan for mid town be the guide to development around the GO train station. The excessive requests by the developers are just not reasonable for the area and will add to the already disastrous traffic congestion in that area especially around rush hours.

I believe it will be absolute chaos if such high density is built across from the GO train station just west of Trafalgar Dr. Anyone that is willing to pay $123 million for this site will try and earn as much money as possible and will cut all corners in developing the land.

As a lifelong resident of Oakville, I've been closely following the Midtown Oakville development project around the GO station, and with recent updates, my concerns have only grown.
