I am commenting with my rejection of the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007. The Endangered Species Act recognizes the vital role of native species and the need to protect Species at Risk. Read more

This is abhorrent- permits and policies are there for a reason, and giving corporations the right to completely go around them is an unfair amount of power and means they can run completely unchecked. I strongly oppose this Bill.

This proposed bill is an abomination to the environment, animal rights, and Indigenous rights. you have no right to overwrite laws that are in place to protect Canada’s most vulnerable in order to destroy the environment for a profit.

We are presently losing more species now than ever before. To suggest the present ESA is unbalanced in favour of SAR is a fallacy – our SAR need more help now than ever, not less. Read more

I take serious issue with bill 5, and with Doug Ford. He has ignored environmental concerns and gone back on previous promises not to touch the greenbelt, and is quietly pushing bills that do harm to our environment and the indigenous people for profit. This is not what the voters signed up for. Read more

I believe that we should be doing everything possible to protect the beautiful nature of Ontario and of Canada. This proposal would allow for the destruction of protected areas too easily and without any real thought. This should be scrapped. Read more

This approach is neither democratic nor aligned with Canadian or Indigenous values. The extraction of non-renewable resources and the disruption of ecosystems have irreversible consequences. Read more

As a concerned member of the public, I strongly oppose the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The amendments prioritize economic growth over the protection of Ontario's vulnerable species and their habitats. Read more

I strongly oppose bill 5, bill 5 has no regard to all the life living on the land or the environment or its people. You are guests on the land, you cannot destroy someone’s home you are visiting and expect everyone to be okay with it.

I am strongly opposed to the proposal. This is not at all a balanced approach. While I understand current priorities to build the Ontario economy, this cannot be done at the expense of the environment or species at risk. Read more

I oppose this. This is undermining all of the work we do for protected areas, we don't need to streamline environmental or ecological assessments to pursue builds/expansions. Read more

I strongly opposes Bill 5. This bill gives your government extreme powers to ignore laws protecting the environment. There is no reason why species protection needs to be a political decision and not a scientific one. Read more

Ontario must prioritize protecting green spaces and environmental safeguards—not sacrifice them for rushed development during a climate crisis—because clean water, carbon-sequestering forests, and healthy ecosystems are the foundation of any livable future.
