I find it unbelievable that our government would propose destroying the natural beauty of Ontario and its various species for what is clearly a cash grab. This is short term thinking at its most obvious - these are not renewable resources. Read more

Native biodiversity is critical to the health of an ecosystem and we're already not doing enough to protect it. This bill will make it easier to harm endangered species by taking away what little habitat they have left and making it nearly impossible for their populations to recover. Read more

As ONE of the biggest provinces in Canada, Ontario needs to be a leader in protecting endangered species and habitats. Don't let Doug Ford harm them with these changes that value destructive development practices. Protect our wildlife and their habitats! Read more

Dear Premier Ford and Mr. Stephen Lecce Please stop Bill 5 I think you need to go back to the drawing board and find a solution that honors our environment while providing the economic growth that we need in Ontario. There has to be a balance that is viable without destroying our amazing Province. Read more

This change is being rushed through without enough community consultation. I do not agree with the changes proposed. I want to hear from scientists on the environmental impacts of the proposed changes. Read more

As a proud Ontarian, I am deeply concerned about Bill 5: "Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act", the Conservative super omnibus bill that would repeal the Endangered Species act, leaving in it’s place a shell with no meaningful rules for species protection. Read more

This bill does not need to be passed. There are already more than enough empty lots, available land, and abandoned buildings in our cities that could be revitalized—without encroaching on land already designated for things like green space or bike paths. Read more

Bill 5 is not a policy Ontarians want to support, including myself. The proposed replacement for the Endagerment species Act is weak and is a threat to the beautiful nature of Ontario. Why are we trying to bulldoze our home and make it easier to wreak havoc on our natural land?

I am writing to strongly oppose the proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007, and the introduction of the Species Conservation Act, 2025. These changes represent a dangerous step backward for environmental protection in Ontario. Read more

I am opposed to Bill 5...we need to protect our environment, not destroy it for developers! Premier Ford, Ontario is against this and you should respect the citizens you represent. Don't be a Trump and do as only you and your rich buddies benefit.

This proposal is a disgrace and a spit in the face of all people who worked to protect our Earth. This bill would allow people to do whatever they want with little repercussions and the people can see it, and the people will fight it. Read more

While I understand the need to reduce barriers to trade within Canada, I do not believe that means eliminating protections for wildlife and environment, and/or the rights of Indigenous peoples and Canadians in Ontario. Read more

People move quicker than the environment, we will continue to move forward but can’t bring back an ecosystem from beyond the grave. Consider this choice carefully. We may not get a second chance if this goes through.
