Allowing people to go ahead without approval first is just letting developers do whatever they want to. They can cause serious harm to wildlife ecosystems and then just ask for forgiveness later. By then the damage has already been done. Read more

This act goes against everything I grew up believing was important and valuable to Canadians. We are nothing without the land that surrounds us, the animals that tend to it, and those who vow to protect it. To disrespect our land like this is disgusting and disgraceful.

Please do not approve this act. It is not well planned. It's not appropriate for the government to prioritize development and not have a rehabilitation, recovery, or management plan. The act should not rely on voluntary initiatives to help protect species. Read more

This should not be approved in it's current state. If the aim is to speed up permits to projects, then it is doing so without any accountability or timely repercussions to ill-intended projects. Government powers described in this is too ambiguous. Read more

Absolutely horrendous the idea that ford should have the power to destroy what canada is known for. Wide open spaces, amazing ecological diversity and ford thinks it's his sandbox to do as he pleases. Completely against bill 5. Disgusting.

These proposed changes are reprehensible and a gross abuse of power. The long term impacts of this policy change are detrimental to all Ontarians, it is short sighted and ignorant to go through with this bill. Read more

Ontario does not need a Bill such as Bill no. 5. I believe this bill will WEAKEN our ecosystem and destroy the natural beauties of Ontario. Infrastructure is important to run a society but killing our enviorment is not the way of doing it. I say NO to bill no. 5.

As an ecological consultant who works closely with species at risk and their habitats across Ontario, I’m deeply concerned about the direction the province is taking with the proposed amendments to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the introduction of the Species Conservation Act (SCA). I am greatly opposed to this Bill. Please stop trying to fast-track ill-conceived development projects without doing your due diligence or when environmental protections force you to think more creatively. Let experts on species and environmental conservation do their jobs. Read more
