I think that this proposal should not for the health of wild Ontario species, and the preservation of the ecology in this province. The protections that are being proposed to be reassessed are essential to protecting our endangered species. Read more

Bill 5 must be stopped and as a constituent of Ontario I do not agree to lose all rights for our endangered species and important environmental lands. This bill allows for stripping any restrictions away to build/drill/strip/drain and no accountability or consequences for damages to Ontario. Read more

This policy makes it too easy to obtain a permit and therefore is not protecting anything. There is a comment about protecting species habitats, UNLESS a permit is obtained. Which goes back to my first comment that the permits are obtained too easily. This is protecting nothing. Read more

It is absolutely crucial for the health and safety of our province - of our EARTH that we maintain protection of endangered and at risk species. I am appalled that the provincial government is considering eliminating the Endangered Species Act. Read more

I am strongly opposed to the proposed changes under the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025. Replacing the Endangered Species Act with a registration-first model prioritizes development over meaningful protection for wildlife. Read more

I fully oppose all proposed changes to the endangered species act. In no way should development be held above the protections of the environment, habitats and native species. Read more

This proposal is a disgrace. Blatant disregard for environmental concerns raised by scientists and citizen, in exchange for developers experiencing less red tape. Absolutely shameful.

I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the Ford government’s attempt to fast-track changes that would weaken Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, 2007. This legislation plays a critical role in the province’s most vulnerable wildlife and ecosystems. Read more

This is not what Canada stands for. I can't believe it's come to this, but surely people are more important than profits. There is a lack of empathy and understanding of the average Ontarian to even propose changes like this. Read more

If the Ford government wasn't absolutely corrupt and I didn't think they were doing this to enrich themselves and developers, I might be on board. We have tons of places to build and we don't need to mess with the limited areas that our wildlife can live. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5 as it's clearly just a means of making it easier for developers to destroy land for their own gain. Nobody but those developers will truly benefit from this in the long run.

This bill will cause irreparable damage to our province's incredible natural diversity and at-risk speicies, and it sickens me that my tax dollars might be used for such nasty, nefarious purposes just so our premier can continue to line the pockets of his development/construction cronies and himself Read more

I am not in favour of the proposed changes to the SARA. Areas that have been identified as key for preserving at-risk species should not be targeted as areas for any development. Once destroyed they are gone forever. SARA is not red tape.

I am writing to strongly oppose Bill 5: the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act and its dangerous proposals, including the creation of Special Economic Zones, the weakening of Ontario’s endangered species protections, and the exemption of the Eagle’s Nest mine from an environmental review.
