Bill 5 should be stopped. This is another way Doug Ford is trying to profit off of Ontario land. He has already allowed the destruction of habitats at Ontario place and this is another example of his disregard for our rights and the protection of wildlife and their habitats.

I oppose the changes to Bill 5. Protecting the environment should be our number one priority. Wildlife and nature contributes to our health and the health of our planet! Keeping strong laws to protect them is vital.

This proposal is short-sighted, greed-based, extremely detrimental to the province and it's all-important natural environment, and exhibits the worst of the Ford government's intentions of prioritizing personal financial gains at the expense of its people and its wildlife. Read more

I reside in Ontario. I do not want this bill to pass. This is disgusting that the Premier of Ontario would even consider this. I want more protection for our wildlife and more green zones to protect our environment. This would infuriate me to no end if this gets passed. Read more

As a citizen of Ontario I oppose this bill. Our provincial government should not be given such sweeping power at the expense of the land we live on, without proper process that includes oversight from wildlife authorities, and Indigenous representation. Read more

I oppose the new Species Conservation Act, 2025 as it reduces the protection of wildlife. Do not put this act into place, keep the previous, Endangered Species Act, 2007. Read more

I think it’s abhorrent trying to remove environmental protections and override existing rules and regulations that keep our country’s landscape and wildlife safe. This bill is NOT something I support in Ontario and nor should our province. Read more

The wildlife of Ontario, and Canada at large, is one of the most important assets we have, and are worthy of our protection and conservation. To hear that this is even being called into question is irresponsible, petty, and disturbing. Read more

Your proposal description is vague and dangerous. We identify endangered species to protect diversity of living things. By doing away with the definition of endangered species you want to build, develop, mine or plunder without environmental studies. Read more

Bill 5 is a direct threat to Ontario’s endangered species and environmental safeguards. It weakens science-based protections, fast-tracks harmful development, and silences public oversight. Read more

Stop Bill 5. This is a short-sighted cash grab. This is what Trump would do. We need to protect our environment and protect endangered species. Do not bulldoze green space without proper environmental studies. Do not “pay to slay” Stop Bill 5 Read more

DO NOT PASS BILL 5. We MUST do all that we can to SAVE wildlife and our natural ecosystems in Ontario. Please do not destroy habitats for creatures that deserve to be here as much as we do.
