I think this is absolutely disgusting and a disgrace to the entire government. How dare you remove protections for endangered species. Their blood will be on all of your hands. I am ashamed to be an Ontarian

This is an addendum to my previous comment, but again, I'm in the construction industry, have been for 20 years, and instead of focusing on this act, which is not going to be particularly helpful, and also result in massive private sector job loss, the focus should be on: Read more

Absolutely no one voted for this. It should not be passed. Development should never come at the expense of our environment. There are reasons these Acts were enacted, let’s not forget them.

While it is important we continue to expand our infastructure and build more homes, this proposal is a step too far in undermining our relations with indigenous groups. Read more

This proposal to limit the scope of and reduce the efficacy of the Species at Risk Act is utterly moronic and completely at odds with science. No biologist worth their salt would have signed off on it - I should know, being one. Read more

This cannot move ahead! We are stewards of our environment, not Gods that preside over it; it is our responsibility to ensure the protection of all species especially those that are already classified as endangered. This is reckless, immoral and makes me ashamed to be an Ontarian. Read more

This is appalling, counterproductive, and clearly an attempt at a power grab during a complicated moment in geopolitics. Wrong direction and will affect us all negatively. Absolutely a big no from me and I'm deeply concerned that anyone in government thinks this is appropriate.

This bill is a reckless step backwards. Gutting environmental reviews, pushing development in sensitive areas like the Ring of Fire, and ignoring Indigenous rights is unacceptable. Read more

This is atrocious. As an Ontarian, born and raised, I wholeheartedly disagree with this decision. Aren’t conservatives supposed to preserve tradition? Ontario’s (and Canada’s) bio diversity is part of tradition and our identity. Beyond worth protecting, now more than ever.

You cannot do this!!! This is a sneaky way to get around restrictions on building where there are endangered species. This is very bad, you cannot undo this damage and it reeks of the sneakiness, destructiveness, and dishonesty that we are seeing South of the border. Read more
