Please do not pass this. We can protect endangered species and build necessary projects at the same time. You don’t need to gut important environmental protections to do so.

I strongly believe the Endangered Species Act (ESA) should remain in place. At a time where biodiversity across the globe is at an all time low, the ESA acts as a safe guard against this loss here at home in Ontario. Read more

This act is irresponsible and regressive. We have a long standing responsibility to the natural beauty of this country, and these changes only serve to exploit something we should be protecting. Read more

This is reprehensible. Governments are entrusted to safeguard but this government seems to forget its role. Eliminating or reducing or "streamlining" the regulations in place this way is misguided and wrong. We are not separate from nature, we ARE nature. Read more

This is atrocious. We have an obligation to protect the land that protects us. Don’t pull the carpet of biodiversity from our under all of us and make way for ecological destruction that cannot be undone. There are other options. Stop. stop. Stop. Read more

I support this proposal which seeks to protect the endangered animals. The rollbacks that have occurred are deeply disturbing to me and show a shift in the absolute wrong direction. We must protect our environment to ensure a future for ourselves and generations to come. Read more

Doug Ford’s government has repeatedly shown a blatant disregard for the protection of Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife. By weakening the Endangered Species Act, Ford is putting short-term industrial gain ahead of long-term ecological survival. Read more

We need more protections for environment and animals now more than ever. Reducing red tape for building is increasing risk to the environment and its species. Our land, water and wildlife are what makes us so unique and should be protected with everything we can give them. Read more

The guidelines put into place were done so with thought to species and their behavior, to potential impacts by mankind. The proposed changes seem like a political move to wave a wand whenever it suits the government, or their friends, to do whatever they want. Read more

I am writing to deeply oppose the changes proposed by this motion. I STRONGLY agree that resources in the province should be explored and developed for the benefit of Ontario. HOWEVER this cannot come at the expense of proper consultations and environmental protections. Read more

This is a disgusting overreach by Ford's greedy government. He seems to exist solely to enrich his friends. This proposal flies in the face of the original scientific guidelines that created the act. Read more

Absolutely not. This is clearly an adjustment for developers and capitalists and puts any actual investigation or critical-thought on the back burner. Not consulting with Indigenous groups? Registered activities? Read more

This is absolutely abhorrent. Wildlife of ALL kinds are crucial to our way of life. If one species is wiped off the earth, it can collapse an entire ecosystem and eventually us. Read more

Allowing the government to bypass independent science-based decisions (what is or is not on the protection list) will put species at risk as by letting the government do whatever they want regardless of the potential harm. Read more
