Considering the recent attack on the Greenbelt and the extension of the 413 highway which completely disregards all environmental protection suggestions, this latest bill comes at no surprise. Read more

Conservation is important and a key part of Ontario! The Ford government has ruined enough of the environment by trying to destroy the greenbelt and now this. This will devastating to many generations to come if this happens.

I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

This proposal will destroy Ontario’s already threatened and dwindling biodiversity - the endangered species act is in place to protect the numerous species that are at risk in Ontario, and this proposal will undoubtedly extirpate populations that are already impacted by anthropogenic change to their Read more

This bill is using the threats from the United States to rollback protections in Ontario. Rolling back environmental and animal protections as well as allowing developers to bypass certain rules is ridiculous. We are in a crisis but we are not Americans. Read more

We need more environmental protection, not less. We in Ontario and Canada as a whole have some of the most pristine and untouched nature left in the world. How will we regret it decades down the line when we’ve lost it all?

I disagree on this act change gives to much leeway to uncaring developers to bulldose what they want essentially destroying the evidence that an endangered species was there at all. And do we really trust developers who have no background in ecological systems or how to handle them appropriately. Read more

It is devastating that the need to expand our cities seems to cost us so much - our planet. We only have one planet and happen to share it with other species. These species are also detrimental to our survival. Destroying habitats for the cost of capital gain is absolutely abysmal. Read more

The proposal is a poorly disguised attempt of increasing urban and suburban sprawl in our province. The specified cases of housing, infrastructure and public transit are all things which are best suited to dense and multi-use zoning, which isn't the case of most of our urban areas in this province. As an ecologist working in Ontario's environmental sector, and as an Ontarian who deeply appreciates the incredible wildlife and plant life that call this province home, I am extremely concerned about many of the components of this proposal. Read more

This absolutely cannot happen! Allowing businesses to start devleoping before permits! changing the description of habitats to not include where animals eat? this is madness and will result in the extinctions of species in ontario.
