Cutting off our nose to spite our face—that is, destroying green space that is fundamental to our long-term survival as a species (and in protection of thousands of other species) is a foolish act of short-term profit chasing. Read more

I oppose bill 5, it is a gross overstep and misuse of power to allow industry without environmental oversight. Canada is a green place where we advertise to other nations our respect and role as caretakers of nature. Read more

Dear Doug Ford, I have the misfortune of being a Millenial. My generation has gotten further from the dream of owning a home. Housing is a crisis in Ontario. I want to own property but not at the expense of Canada’s vibrant ecosystem. Read more

One of my concerns is that a simple registration processs allows those to “begin activities” on the land. Who will be ensuring this is done while being conscious of the surrounding areas, maintaining the integrity of the land and species that inhabit it. Read more

I do not support this proposal, I do not want it to be easier for developers to destroy green space and habitats for protected species. There needs to be more protection for endangered species and their habitats, not less. Leave the greenbelt alone ffs Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5. We need strong environmental protection, not the opposite. Don’t let Doug Ford destroy natural habitats for industrialisation. We need to shut this Bill down immediately. Read more

As an Ontario resident, I oppose Bill 5. We should be strengthening environmental protection policy in Ontario, not dismantling it. I oppose short cuts for industry and development. Please act in the interest of Ontarians and reject Bill 5.

I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections - Bill 5 is not that. I oppose short cuts for industry and capitalist gain at the expense of our natural environment. Think longevity, please.

I oppose Bill 5. I don't think industry should have priority in what is the most fertile ground in Canada. It's bad enough that Toronto is where it is, we shouldn't exasperate the problem by weakening the protections on the environment elsewhere in Ontario.

Totally oppose this bill. Industry doesn't comply with existing environmental legislation. Stricter regulations and enforcement are required for Endangered Species Act. Read more

This bill is senseless. Ontario has no future without healthy land and thriving wildlife. It is also a violation of treaties with indigenous people, on whose land doug ford is living. Please retract this bill for the sake of Ontarians--the dollars he will make will not justify the cost.
