I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

Extremely disappointed with this short sighted legislation. Stop letting greed blind you of your responsibilities for the current and future generations in this province. Shame on you.

This plan doesn’t take into account long term affects it will have on the environment and the people. We live in one of the largest geographical countries and provinces in the world. Surely there’s a way to build that takes the environment into account. Read more

This is a terrible idea, the ESA works perfectly well and we don't need to put developers before the environment. O.Reg 406 is another example of simplification that just made it confusing and more complicated for everyone involved.

Pillaging Ontario's natural resources for short term gain things we already have plenty of (highways, spas, etc) is short-sighted, wasteful and criminal of this government if they allow it. Read more

Re: Proposed Changes to the Endangered Species Act Dear Sir or Madame, I am deeply concerned about the proposed changes to Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. These changes pose a significant threat to the protection and recovery of vulnerable species in our province. Read more

I strongly oppose nearly all of these changes. The only sensible tweak is aligning provincial rules with the federal Species at Risk Act to avoid duplicate approvals. Everything else must go: • Permit‑to‑register swap: Self‑register‑and‑go means zero real oversight. Read more

As an Ontario resident, I strongly disagree with this proposal. Consultations MUST be made. We are a country of law, order, and consideration. We will follow policies and procedures that are fair and equitable for all.

I think it's short-sighted to fast track development that could harm important species and give discretionary authority to those who are politically elected and this not looking at things from a long-term lens. Read more

The proposed changes to ERO 025-0380 are an absolute travesty. I live within the affected areas, and no amount of fast-tracking of development is going to solve the housing crisis currently affecting Toronto, only make living here less desirable in totality. Read more

This is an embarrassment for all Ontarians and Canadians. We are a province and country of people who have spent decades respecting environment and the species who inhabit it. Removing any protections should never be allowed. Increasing protection is more important than housing or highways. Read more

The statement made that “The government would also have discretion to remove protected species from the list” in reference to the COSSARO is downright absurd and undermines due processes in place that ensure the safety of endangered and at risk species. Read more
