This is really really scary. As an Ontario citizen, I find this super offensive. Please do not do this. The ESA serves an important role in my community. Rigour and proper science are needed to protect our vulnerable environments and biodiversity. We cannot override them. Don’t do this

This proposal will lead to nothing but lengthy lawsuits with Indigenous groups, which will make processes even longer, and permanent destruction of our natural environment. The total disregard for the planet and endangered species is disgusting and corrupt. Read more

If you pass this bill, think about how much every child and grandchild and their grandchildren deserve to hate you for your short sighted greed, anti intellectualism and willful ignorance. Disgusting.

I understand why there is a push to reconsider some of the current elements of the ESA. However, I strongly urge you to consult with biologists before making these changes. Many of these will set us back so many years, which, in the climate crisis we are currently facing, we just don't have. Read more

Surely you have more important matters to consider other than further harming the environment and Ontario's already at-risk wildlife. How will this effect MNR employment? As well as other wildlife agencies? Ontario has vast amounts of land to be used without your threats to protected areas. Read more

I strongly oppose this bill. It will immensely impact Ontario and will turn our beloved province into a wasteland. We can see what happens, when any investigation is omitted. Link to recent NYT article clearly outlines the lies behind the Therme spa agreement. Read more

Our ecosystems are vital to continuing to support humans and life on this planet. Our politicians need to start prioritizing the environment, and stop acting like it’s something that can be tossed in the trash. Read more

This is NOT a good change to the act. I do not approve. Making it so the simple act of registering grants approval rather than the existing process of determining the approval through permits and advisory council, is and will be destructive. Read more

I agree that there should be a more straight forward approach to ensure proper approvals and protections of endangers specifies prior to construction projects, however this will not be achieved by letting applicants simply register. Read more

Allowing the government to remove protected species from the list makes the COSSARO pointless, because anything they do can just be overturned for political purposes. Read more

I firmly oppose this new legislation, as it not only removes critical safeguards for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also ignores the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. Read more

The safeguarding of the earth and all inhabitants (including non humans) is more important than housing development. We must find better solutions that can allow for us to coexist with nature around us for we depend on the well being of it all. Read more

This is an extremely disappointing proposal, and I’m shocked it’s even being considered. Around the world Canada is known as a green country, who respects and protects nature and its wildlife. Read more

This is a disgusting approach to getting more access to land for development and ignoring the biodiversity in our province. We need a leader who will protect our land, animals and everything that lives there, not one who will destroy it!!
