We should all be opposed to this. Gutting our environmental protections so developers can build on critical lands is cruel and unnecessary. There are a significant number of endangered species in areas that should be protected from development that are now at risk.

Ford’s government is contracting his friends to build houses in the middle of geological areas. This is not a complicated situation. There are scientists who’s job is tell you if this is a good idea or no. And Ford is NOT listening to scientists, just like his buddy Trump.

I’m deeply concerned about the proposed Species Conservation Act. Endangered species and their habitats deserve strong protections based on science, not shortcuts for faster development. If we weaken these protections, we risk losing species forever. Ontario should be a leader in conservation. Read more

Please start thinking about Ontario’s future as a green space full of animal diversity! We are able to live along side animals if we are willing to make the effort. Please make the effort!

I am against the Ford government's continual gutting of environmental protection regulations, like this proposal to change the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Humans and all life need the environment to survive. Read more

Ridiculous and unnecessary, the idea that you should circumvent environmental protections, indigenous rights, is completely unnecessary and will lead to more conflict, more lawsuits, more waste and not expedite anything. Read more

I support building homes and infrastructure, but not at the cost of our wildlife. Please don’t weaken the Endangered Species Act. We need clear, science-based rules to protect animals and plants that can’t speak for themselves.

I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. Read more

The proposed changes are not clarifying or streamlining the existing act- they are creating a system where science-based decision making can be summarily dismissed by government and industry can begin breaking ground on proposed projects without proper procedures to safeguard species. Read more

I strongly oppose this. Biodiversity is important for our continued survival. Without it, our crops won’t grow properly and we’ll have to depend on other countries such as the US to feed our province. Read more

"Unleashing the economy" and protecting endangered species / environments are not mutually exclusive goals. Stop using an economic crisis to strip environmental protections and rob indigenous Canadians of their rights. Read more
