I strongly oppose this proposal, which would significantly weaken Ontario’s environmental protections under the guise of streamlining infrastructure development. Our natural ecosystems are not obstacles to development — they are the very foundation of our health, economy, and quality of life. Read more

I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

One of ontarios strengths is the sheer volume of natural beauty we have. We need to protect it and protect our natural resources from the reaches of capitalistic developers and greedy politicians. Read more

This is yet another disgusting, short sighted, wrong headed example of the Ford government selling off Ontario and its natural resources, green spaces and wildlife for their own private interests. I don’t have words for the greediness exemplified in this most recent move to degrade this province.

This proposal is short-sighted and will not alleviate the issues that it sets out to address. Development should not come at the expense of our environment. Future generations have a right to utilize and enjoy our natural resources and this proposal will short-change them on this right. Read more

This is absolutely appalling. How can anyone support going through with this change? This is going to be exploited and will harm hundreds of indigenous and endangered species. I am genuinely at a loss for words. Read more

This disregard for environmental protections and indigenous voices is disgusting, but unsurprising from the Ford government. We will not stand for our tax dollars being used to carve up and sell off more of Ontario, consequences and protections be damned. Read more

I oppose these changes. Allowing the government to have final discretion of what constitutes an endangered species is wrong. The government isn't full of experts that know exactly what an endangered species could be. Why should they be able to decide what should be on the list and what shouldn't. Read more

They were on the land first. Our land developments have already shrunk the spaces that animals and plants can be naturally. It SHOULD take a long time for permits for imposing on whats left of natural spaces to be considered and processed. Read more

I don't support this; we should be faster with approvals, but as we have seen down south, it is not practical to rely on the goodwill and trust others, especially those positioned to profit, to do the right thing every time. Read more

This is an abhorrent abuse of powers. Nature conservation and protections for endangered species are far more important than building another mega highway that nobody asked for. It is especially more important than any mega spa that none of the constituents of Ontario have asked for. Read more
