We don't need another highway, we don't need to get rid of bike lanes. What we need is more funding and lower fairs and increased service to TTC. Make it cheaper and more convenient to hop on a bus than take the car.

My name is Kerby and I oppose bill 5. As many others have commented, I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones. Read more

Bill 5 needs to be stopped. I have deep concerns about the government’s lack of seriousness on the protection of endangered species. The government is more focused on bulldozing and building with little regard for wildlife and the environment. Read more

I oppose Bill 5, and any effort to change the Endangered Species Act. This is NOT what your government was elected to do. The people of Ontario deserve transparency in all of your dealings, please stop trying to put through bills that enable you to bypass this essential process.

Ontario’s Bill 5 puts profits over protection—gutting endangered species laws, weakening environmental assessments, and fast-tracking sprawl. This isn’t just bad policy—it’s a dangerous rollback of the safeguards that protect our land, water, and wildlife and tramples Indigenous rights. Scrap it. Read more

This bill is disheartening. It makes me sad that someone who is supposed to be our leader, and helping our people, would even suggest doing something like this. This is all for personal gain and to put more money in the already rich pockets. Read more

Destroying the environment in favour of corporate greed is inherently anti-Canadian, not to mention shameful. It is our responsibility to ensure that this planet is liveable for the future generations. Let's not make it harder for them than it already will be.

Passing this bill simultaneously railroads indigenous rights and protection of our environment. This bill will allow companies to proceed with little oversight, and disregard any environmental protections. This will further endanger our wildlife and our earth. Read more

I am strongly opposed to Bill 5 as it disregards any consideration for endangered species and their habitats. We have a responsibility to take care of our surrounding nature and we must stop building at the expense of the environment.
