I strongly oppose Bill 5, the "Protect" Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This legislation poses a serious threat to Ontario’s natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights. I have to put "protect" in quotation marks because this it does NOT do - rather, the opposite.

This proposal includes nothing concerning the protection of endangered species, in fact it supports the opposite, it is a selfish bill that would result in permanent loss of wildlife and their habitat.
I strongly oppose the proposed repeal of the Endangered Species Act (2007) and its replacement with the Species Conservation Act, 2025. While modernization and efficiency are important, this proposal significantly weakens protections for Ontario’s most vulnerable species.
