I am a resident of Ajax and am very concerned about Bill 5. Repealing the Endangered Species Act and allowing the provincial government to create special economic zones that would allow industrial development without public oversight would be devastating to many areas of Ontario. Read more

This bill is a ridiculous overstep of government. Removing environmental protections does not improve anyone’s chances at a better life except developers and the politician friends. These protections keep Ontario preserved for future generations. Read more

I am against Bill 5. Ontarians was stronger environmental protections in the province and I oppose short cuts for industry with no public consultation or oversight. I am against overriding the law in economic zones and I am calling for stronger protection for endangered species in Ontario.

Please do not diminish the Endangered Species Act. This is a very important act that needs to be respected. Once animals become extinct they are gone. We have to stop putting human needs in front of the environment every single time. Certain areas need to be no develop zones.
