The proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act would enable development of land at a rate that is beyond sustainable. Natural spaces and wildlife are so important to the wellbeing of every human on the planet. A world devoid of the beauty of plants and animals is not worth living in.

I worry that this will lead to a slippery slope where we stop taking into account what makes Canada what it is, bio diverse and mindful of the environment. This feels like the first step to letting corporations suck Canada dry of its' resources and leave it as a husk of what it once was.

I oppose this law. Short term economic profit should not be put above environmental protections. Nor should government have a say in what specifies are endangered or not. Leave science up to scientists and work with ecosystems so all species can thrive.
