We need to be focused on protecting and empowering our environment now more than ever. If anything we should be making it even harder to pave over existing green space for developers, not easier.
I, my family, and my community oppose Bill 5 in the strongest possible terms. If anything, we need *more* protections for endangered species, all our native wildlife, and the areas in which they reside. We need to stop prioritizing corporate interests and greed over our actual literal country.

I strongly oppose Bill 5 and these shortcuts that favour industry over Ontarians true interests and will vote accordingly in the next election. I support stronger protections for the environment and endangered species.
I hope this bill does not pass as it currently exists, and I believe Ontario can be wildly successful without changing protections to areas we need as humans to survive and the animals that live there.

This makes it harder to keep developers accountable for ecological damage. Canada already has vulnerable ecosystems and the proposed is a threat to that. The Endangered Species Act is not designed for industries to create pathways to bypass accountability.
