Bill 5 is unnecessary and dangerous. It’s exploitation from the Ford government and not in the best interest of Ontarians. We need INNOVATION and SUSTAINABILITY. Not the same old arguments for fracking and mining. CLEAN ENERGY! I respect indigenous rights and the rights of future generations.

We cannot be cutting corners. Endangered species need to be protected. We also need to respect Indigenous lands and work with Indigenous people. This bill 5 should not pass. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose the government being able to add or remove from the list as they please. I oppose shortcuts or "speed-ups" for industry. I strongly oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

Please do not further weaken the Endangered Species Act in the name of “simplifying things”. I do not agree with the framing that these protections are “taking” money from housing and other needed social services. Read more

I understand that you want to expedite urbanization and expansion, but this is not the way to do it. Wildlife are an inconvenience for a few weeks at most; construction can be halted, and the animals can move on. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections. I oppose short cuts for industry. I'm 19 years old and as long as I can remember all I have seen from the Ford government is continuous neglect for our environment and our Treaties. DO BETTER. Read more

It’s clear that the changes proposed in this bill are being presented under the guise of promoting “sustainable economic growth.” However, this does not align with the original intent of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Read more

Again Doug Ford is undoing any goodwill he has built up by destroying our environment and wildlife. If he really cared about Canada as he suggests to the US he would protect these areas instead of putting them in danger. Read more

Totally opposed to anything that will further endanger any species of plant or animal in our province or allow for development of historical or indigenous sites to allow for development which is not essential; if anything we need more protections not less.

Bill 5, would do untold damage to ecosystems, endangered species, and future generations and impact endangered species, clean energy and indigenous rights. Why repeal Ontario’s existing Endangered Species Act, 2007? The Endangered Species Act was put there for a reason? Read more

Please do not do this. I hope that we are able to recognize the consequences of ignoring scientists and experts and leaving decisions that require said expertise in the hands of government officials without the proper knowledge for the sake of profit. Read more
