Hi I am a Ontario born resident and am making a comment on bill five in regards to the nature that I believe this bill aims to fast track its way through portions of section 9 and many parts of provincial environmental law that was previously set in place. Read more

Economic development is important for human development but not at the cost of our environmental livelihood. Without a healthy environment, we cannot grow economically. This bill seems to completely abolish environmental and ecological reviews with the sole purpose of economic gain. Read more

I oppose this proposal. Environmental conservation, consideration, and restoration should not be voluntary nor should the definitions of endangered species and their habitats be weakened.

NO! It is imperative to maintain the current Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) program. DO NOT replace this. There is good reason why permits take time. Time to assess what is good for all, not just for the few. Most Sincerely A very concerned Ontarian. Read more

We need animals just as much as they need us. The circle of life is here for a reason.. every living creature and natural habitats have their purpose. If left uncared for, killed and destroyed.. what’s the sense in living in a careless environment? Read more

Why should something like this pass? The rules and regulations this bill will allow private companies to ignore are important. The argument for Bill 5 is illogical. This is a disgraceful bill.

Ontario should not be touching ANY of the environmental acts. These habitats are protected for a reason. This government has no right to pass this bill especially since they are still being investigated for the greenbelt scandal.

This is outrageous, this will not be good for anyone or anything. Removing this act and allowing for critical habitat to be developed, only lessens biodiversity which our native ecosystems rely, this causes natural resource loss over time. Read more
