I oppose Bill 5. The Ontario Endangered Species Act (ESA) protects species at risk and habitats that are needed for survival. I understand that this Act is one of the most important pieces of legislation protecting biodiversity in Ontario.

I do not support these proposed changes. We need to be increasingly environmental protections not decreasing them. This is an undemocratic proposal. The interests of the business class and developers should not be upheld to the detriment of the environment and our democratic freedoms.
I am concerned about revoking the Endangered Species Act because the Auditor General observed in 2020 that permitting applications to harm endangered species or their habitat are always approved (see Page 6).

Absolutely ridiculous! The original act protects our precious wildlife way more than this "revised" proposal. In a time where more and more species are becoming endangered and sadly extinct, it's so crucial that we protect our provinces helpless wildlife more than ever.

It is imperative for laws that protect endangered species and honour Indigenous treaties are kept in place. I vehemently oppose Bill 5. The government should not be able to destroy the natural habitats of many species in Ontario nor should they be able to destroy Native land.

I object to Bill no. 5 and demand it be stopped. Many of us fight hard for a better, safer, protected habitat for wildlife with very little support. This bill is reprehensible and irresponsible.
