The environment is important and needs to be protected. Proper checks and balances to ensure that need to be made not removed. This bill is a blatant disregard towards environment safety and needs to be reviewed properly. Read more

This Bill gives the green light to begin possible destruction of habitat and other harmful acts to the proposed environments with little to no oversight. A simple registration form before they can begin development is less than what the average home owner needs for basic home renovations. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the repeal of the Endangered Species Act. This legislatin would weaken critical protections for Ontario's most vulnerable species and their habitats. Economic growth must not come at the cost of biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. Read more

I strongly oppose the interim changes to and repeal of the Endangered Species Act, 2007. This would end much of the important protections of endangered species in Ontario, where I was born and raised, and where I plan to live for the rest of my life. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections for endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry without proper consultation or consent from Indigenous communities. I oppose overriding the law in "special economic zones".

In spite of the positive-looking spin that is put on this proposed legislation (Bill 5), it is obvious that the Ford government is continuing to whittle away at endangered species and their habitat. Read more

The existing habitat definition and protections of the Endangered Species Act should be retained. They provide a clear approach to conserving Ontario’s most at-risk birds, and any issues of delays or lack of clarity can be dealt with through improvements in process. Read more

Bill 5 amends the species at risk Act to make it virtually useless in its ability to protect species at risk. It gives full discretionary power to Government essentially saying trust us. Read more

I oppose bill 5, public consultation should always be a part of decision making when altering any type of habitat, let alone build new infrastructures. Species habitats are complex and cannot be so easily categorized as described in bill 5. Read more

As a person who grew up in Ontario and have visited many camping sites, and hiking trails, i am strongly opposed to bill 5, it goes against the beauty of Canada, the nature that majority of us admire in passing, along with the protection of species that future generations would otherwise miss out on Read more

Please do not repeal the endangered species act 2007. We need to protect the species that will not be able to protect themselves. It would seem like those that can't speak for themselves don't matter. We can't bulldoze all of nature! Read more
