Environmental protection exists for a reason. Opening the floodgates to further habitat destruction through unregulated development in the name of economic growth is ecological suicide. Read more

I oppose bill 5. I oppose short cuts for industry with no public oversight. I want stronger environmental and endangered species protections. I oppose overwriting the law in special economic zones. Read more

I am writing as a concerned Ontario resident who values our provinces biodiversity. Bill 5 threatens to weaken protections for species at risk and their habitats—protections that have been established through decades of scientific research and conservation efforts. Read more

This can not go through. Our planet and environment is at a breaking point and doing anything to remove the little protection it has would be hugely detrimental to the animals and eco systems that sustain life.

I do not support the repeal of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. Protecting vulnerable animals and their habitats is critical not just for biodiversity, but for the health of our environment as a whole. Read more

I do not support the repeal of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act or the introduction of the Species Conservation Act, 2025. While streamlining processes may sound efficient, it should never come at the cost of environmental protection. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025. This legislation weakens Ontario’s environmental protections in ways that are reckless and short-sighted, placing endangered species and vital habitats at serious risk. Read more

I don't think it's appropriate that you give government the power to remove species at risk from 'the list'. Why can't you let third parties in Ludington the At Risk group do this job? Second, you say you want to update/remove the word harass but you gave no reason. Why is this? Read more

Wouldn't funding more social housing i.e. shitty condos help more people faster than this? Look man I know something has to give to make sure that we start getting shovels in the ground more. Read more

The climate crisis is the number one problem facing the people of Ontario. Full stop. These proposed changes jeopardize our future, not mention the future of an unthinkable number of other species. To be blunt, there’s no point to me having a house if the planet isn’t livable. Read more

This bill will devastate endangered species and delicate ecosystems while serving nobody but Doug Ford's rich developer friends. This bill does not serve Ontarians, it only serves rich land developers that want to cover every piece of land with overpriced condos.

I am a concerned Ontario citizen and have seen the news reports about ‘Bill 5’ which will give free reign to contractors and unscrupulous developers who care nothing for the environment or the quality of life for the public. Read more
