I am writing to express my opposition to the approaches to species conservation proposed through the “Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and a proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025” (ERO number 025-0380). Read more

I’m writing because I’m very concerned about the proposed changes to Ontario’s Endangered Species Act (ESA). This legislation plays a crucial role in protecting wildlife across the province, and without strong provincial protections, many species could fall through the cracks. Read more

Nature is us. We are nature. A polluted river pollutes our bodies and those of our children. What we do to our animal neighbours and to our environment we do to ourselves. Read more

0/10 legislation that is promising to gut environmental protections in Ontario. Our environment deserves better, under this legislation endangered species will be slaughtered and homes will be able to go up anywhere. This is not the way to solve the housing crisis.

Please leave the endangered species act alone! The animals were here first and we need to protect them even when it is inconvient for us. Their welbeing needs to come first. Haven't we done enough damage?

The endangered species of Ontario need more protection, not less. We are currently experiencing mass biodiversity loss which is only exacerbating the impacts of climate change. These changes will cause many species that have important ecological functions to become extinct in Ontario. Read more

This bill is extremely dangerous and must not be allowed to pass. It is a blatant attempt to rush through development without proper environmental consultation. Our species will be put increasingly at risk by this irresponsible bill, for the benefit of the few. Read more

I am very worried about these changes. They seem to allow groups whose main aim is profit to cause significant environmental harm without restriction, then ask permission later, once the damage is already done. Read more

Taking away protections to our environment and ENDANGERED species is a sure way to make sure we destroy our own lives while destroying the flora and habitats of animals in danger of extinction. Read more

I strongly oppose the plan to repeal the Endangered Species Act. this is one of the few tools we have to protect at-risk wildlife and the ecosystems they depend on. Replacing it with vague "goals" and unenforceable measures will lead to the further decline of species already on the brink. Read more

Environmental protections for endangered species of Ontario are a cornerstone of this province. I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger protections for the environment and endangered species. I want access to better clean energy technologies from other countries. Read more

I am extremely opposed to these changes. Self regulation is a naive and disingenuous expectation as there is exhaustive evidence that individuals and corporations will not do what is best for wildlife or the environment when there is profit to be made. Read more
