I am a life long resident of Ontario and am against this bill. It will do immeasurable harm to our environment, and to ourselves as we need the environment to live. Especially at this crucial point of irreversible climate change we cannot be pulling back environmental protections. Read more

I oppose Bill 5 and the proposed repeal of Ontario's Endangered Species Act. As an Ontarian, I do not support industry shortcuts that bypass public oversight or accountability. These changes put species at greater risk and prioritize profit over long-term environmental health. Read more

I do not agree with the changes proposed in Bill 5 or the changes to the Endangered Species act. As a graduate with a Masters in Sustainability, and an environmental educator, I believe these changes will damage the environmental systems that Ontario is dependent on. Read more

Poisoning any wildlife is appalling cruelty and should never be done or tolerated by a decent society. Look at the science if the cruelty doesn’t bother you: when coyotes are killed indiscriminately the ones that survive then produce more litters with more pups. Read more

I am opposed to these changes. Conservation experts are extremely concerned about this legislative change. While the streamlining of building permits is a worthy cause, removing permits altogether is a drastic change in how we protect species. Read more

Once again, the provincial government is trying to take Ontario backwards, losing decades of progress with the stroke of a pen. This proposed legislation will impact wolves across Ontario. Eastern wolves are Threatened in Ontario, as well as federally. Read more

I strongly oppose this legislation. If changes are required to the Endangered Species Act, then make those changes. Abolishing the act and operating under the assumption that Developers won't do extensive damage to fragile species or ecosystems is myopic and naive. Read more

The Species Conservation Act provides insufficient protection to wildlife. The definition of protected habitat should not be changed from what is described in the Endangered Species Act. It should remain a broader term. Read more

This is very upsetting what the current Ontario government is doing. The lack of care of nature and our wildlife is disgusting. From wanting to develop the green belt, to tearing down Ontario Place and now this. I’m ashamed to be from Ontario and I’m disgusted in Mr. Ford.

As an Ontarian who deeply values wildlife and natural areas, I’m strongly opposed to the proposed elimination of the Endangered Species Act. This change is a major step backward for the protection of birds and other at-risk species in our province. Read more

I strongly disagree with this measure, taking care of endangered species is not red tape, you can find better and more sustainable way to "unleash" the economy. Find ways to really protect first time home buyers from investors instead.

We need to conserve our endangered species and that means leaving them in their natural environment. By making changes and taking this away it will only make the situation worse and affect our city and country’s responsibility to care for these species. Stop these actions at once!
