I vehemently oppose the changes to species at risk protections proposed within the Species Conservation Act. The changes to habitat definitions do not align with scientific data nor the ecology of the animals this act proports to protect. Read more

I am against these changes as they will reduce protections for endangered wildlife and make it easier for their ecosystems to be destroyed. Yes, we need more housing in this province but we don't need it at the expense of our endangered wildlife. Read more

I feel as though as a province we are moving in the wrong direction. The protection of our land and resources should be a priority, not something we are moving away from the cater towards greedy developers. A greedy government is embarrassing and that is what this province has become. Shame.

“Takes too long to complete” it should be a slow and tedious process, it is about the protection of species and critical habitats! We should not be bending to developers who want a quicker way to destroy the environment and endanger more species. Read more

I strongly oppose these changes to the Endangered Species Act. I think it’s important to have these environmental safeguards in place to protect ecosystems whose destruction could have unintentional consequences. It’s important to have enough exposed soil to soak up rainwater and prevent flooding. Read more

Please, please, do not reduce environmental protections. Our children need you to think beyond the current election cycle and be responsible for future generations. 'Open for business' does not need to mean 'we're ok with destroying our collective future'. Read more

As a grassroots, environmental activist and Indigenous ally, I strongly oppose this legislation and I'm appalled that a Government of Ontario, supposedly acting in the best interests of its constituents, would suggest that Bill 5 is the best way to protect Ontario’s economy. Read more

As an Ontario resident and committed environmental advocate, I am deeply concerned by the implications of Bill 5. This legislation appears to prioritize rapid economic development at the expense of our province’s most cherished natural assets—our lakes, forests, wetlands, and green spaces. Read more

This bill is a travesty and will do nothing to make the lives of Ontarians better. The current Provincial government has already shown that their approaches to housing and transit are completely backward. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered of species. I oppose all shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones. With zero exceptions.
