The proposed changes to the endangered species act is reckless. Biodiversity is absolutely critical to human health and life and must be preserved. I oppose the proposed changes and would like stronger protections for all species, including vulnerable species in the province.

Please do not implement these changes; all species, areas and habitats that fall under the Species Conservation Act need and deserve continued protection! This would be a major and unnecessary loss for crucial species at risk, habitat preservation and biodiversity in Ontario. Read more

I do not have anything profound to say. I just want to register my disagreement with the proposal. We should be working to preserve the environment more than we do and massive development on it is not a good way to do that.

Disregarding dwindling wildlife populations for the sake of efficiency is criminal. Stop. Think of the longterm consequences. They may very well be more costly than the imagined profits the Ford government is pushing so hard to shove down our throats. Read more

Ontarian’s want sensitive environments protected and environmental surveys before construction is taken across the province. Future generations will thank us for not paving over paradise.

While I appreciate that the current economic situation is a "crisis". With economic attack from America and the "Airbnb" housing commodification housing crisis we do need to accelerate development. We do not need to completely abandon environmental protections. Read more

I am deeply concerned about this proposal. The proposed repeal of the Endangered Species Act and the replacement of it represents a significant weakening of Ontario's responsibility to protect and restore populations of Species at Risk throughout the province. Read more

The Endangered Species Act as laid out in 2007 is already rather weak in protections. The intended changes to it would remove reasonable checks and balances that our province's ecosystems desperately need to survive. Read more

I have many concerns about these changes, the first and most important of which is that the definitions are not yet developed and leave it open to interpretation until a future date. Read more

This is driven by pure greed. We should be working on building up the spaces we already have, instead of making it easier to destroy our environment for short term gain. This is so wildly short sighted, and it's ridiculous it's even being proposed in the first place.

The proposed interim amendments to the ESA and the subsequent implementation of the proposed SCA is fundamentally flawed if economic, environmental, social and health sustainability for Ontarians is still a supposed foundational vision or goal of the Province. Read more
