Our poor, poor planet is much too close to her tipping point for us to be enacting policies that will only serve to push her over the edge. We must preserve whatever precious little pristine wilderness remaining and re-wild much of that stolen from the animal nations. Read more

The proposed changes and new legislation, which seem to ignore established science, will cause a massive loss of species, habitat and biodiversity and will not benefit Ontarians in any of the ways that they claim. Read more

I am deeply concerned that these changes would tip the balance too far to favour shot-term haste over care in areas where you are dealing with irreplaceable assets and a trust for generations to come. Read more

I believe that humanity needs to learn how to live sustainably in community with each other AND with plant and wildlife species. We need to explore and retain tools that promote sustainable caring as much as possible. Read more

This proposed Bill will remove many environmental protections which were first implemented to protect the health and safety of people in Ontario, and to ensure the long-term stability of our environment. Read more

I don't think the government should have the authority to determine what is or isn't a protected species, they are not experts in this field. Also I think the process should be complicated as it requires care and thought. Please do not change Read more

No activity should begin without proper environmental studies. The damage often cannot be undone once habitats are damaged. I oppose this bill and have no issue with the existing version. Read more

I would like to echo the sentiments that others have expressed. This proposal is unethical, dangerous, and frankly shameful. 1. Unchecked development is a disaster for the environment. This is irresponsible and dangerous and will have negative consequences for generations to come. Read more

You need to understand the severity of your actions if this law passes. Biodiversity is extremely important to our survival and the world’s health. It is our responsibility to restore the amount of species that we have significantly degraded. Read more

I have concerns about this bill due to its potential impact on wildlife and the environment as both are a vital resource. It is in the public interest to ensure that environmental effects from new development projects are minimized. Read more

Quite simply, this proposal weakens species protection laws. Habitat loss does not benefit anyone. It’s our responsibility to protect the full habitat of listed species in our province, and this proposal is counterproductive to that.

I am very concerned about the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Politicians should not have the power to remove protected species from the list. These proposals are a direct attack on species at risk, a clean and healthy community and on indigenous peoples.
