I am so disapppointed with the Provinces direction to amalgamate Conservation Authorities. To me this makes no sense, esprcially when the Province contributes only about 1% funding to CA's. Read more

I agree with the comments made by the Hamilton conservation authority. I am very concerned about losing local decision making and believe that conservation decisions should be made by the local community.

This is a terrible idea that will only lead to loss of habitats and destruction of the natural environment. The Conservative government is meant to act with the best interests of the people and the province in mind, not the best interests of developers and donors. Read more

I am a private citizen in southwestern Ontario. It is essential to maintain local offices for the new Conservation Authorities. The proposed Lake Erie CA would be a 3 hour or more drive time from the southern boundary to the northern boundary. Read more

I am confused as to why this proposed merger is needed. Currently I am an annual pass holder and visit my local conservation areas regularly (especially Dundas Valley). The services i receive meet my needs and I see no gaps that need to be addressed. Read more

I cannot understand how these amalgamations will save time with permitting or money. In my own watershed 100% of all permits were issued within 10 days at Conservation Authority and at the other Conservation Authority all but 1permit were issued within 10 days. Read more

I don't agree with the proposed change. My sense is that the matters that conservation authorities manage are fundamentally local, and I'm concerned that consolidation into larger areas will adversely impact the ability of local voices to be heard. Read more

I agree 100% with Hamilton Conservation Authority's submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making, as I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Moreover, mergers are costly and there is no obvious plan for managing costs. Read more
