We live in Lindsay and having heard of the amalgamation of the Conservation Agencies, we immediately thought of how amalgamation of towns like we have here in Kawartha Lakes has made things more costly with less help for locals. Read more

Please do not combine the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority with a Conservation Authority that is not even on Lake Superior. This goes against the stated criteria (maintaining watershed-based jurisdictions). Read more

I am NOT in favor of merging conservation authorities into larger regional watershed agencies. There is not a demonstrated need to create a provincial organization to control CAs and the process will eliminate any meaningful local decision making. Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. The local focus of existing conservation authorities is their strength. Read more
