Consolidating the CAs will make careless development without consideration of SAR habitat, management activities, or flooding risks easier. This degrades local input into land use and puts both people and wildlife at risk.
While I support the current provincial government there are areas that they must learn to keep their mitts off of .

It is important that the Province look to modernize the way conservation authorities exist and operate. However, the Province must do so in a meaningful way, that considers expert advice and input from those who work for, operate, and use these conservation authorities and conservation areas.

I am against combining the Lake Superior and Lake Huron conservation authorities. These are two vastly different lakes. Weather patterns, lake temperatures, migration patterns, and human footprints are all so different.

I am firmly opposed to the proposal to merge Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities into seven regional bodies. This plan will significantly weaken environmental protection, eliminate local oversight, and reduce the accountability Ontarians rely on to keep our communities safe.
