I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. This merger is a poorly thought out and dangerous plan. I fear the only supporters would be developers.

I am completely against amalgamating the conservation authorities in the province. Individual Conservation authorities play an important role in managing the unique parts of their community that require thoughtful oversight and monitoring. Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. It makes more sense to address the shortcomings of the current system by providing clear guidelines and ensuring accountability from all conservation authorities using updated common infrastructure than to institute a whole new bureaucracy. Read more

There is no reason to be merging these conservation authorities other than attempting to sell an image of efficiency and centralizing control of these authorities to dilute their ability to protect the environment from capital interests (industrial, developments, etc.) It is important that we protec Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. There is absolutely no reason to take away local authority for our conservation area.
