I do not support this proposal. It is an unnecessary waste of taxpayers' money that could be better spent elsewhere, such as on healthcare or education. Furthermore, each of the new regions would cover too large of an area and it will be more difficult for local conservation needs to be addressed. Read more

We support the amalgamation. There is currently too much overlapping of conservation authorities. One property can have 2 conservation authorities, plus the niagara escarpment conservation authority, the city zoning department and even be under Greenbelt restrictions. Read more

Bill 68's amendments to the Conservation Authorities Act will seriously degrade the ability of the Conservation Authorities to do the required job of protecting our watersheds and the environment. Read more

Whilst I support the intent to streamline and rationalise the processes across Conservation Authorities, I strongly oppose your intention to consolidate the existing conservation authorities in the extreme manner you suggest. Read more

Control of watershed issues need to be based on given watershed issues which are not political but environmental. Suggesting that such things can be properly managed by a consolidated group not even near or aware is NOT the way to go. Do not make such dramatic changes! Read more

Consolidating Thunder Bay’s Conservation Authority, the LRCA, with southern Ontario is not beneficial to development in North Ontario. The LRCA needs to exist independently. I do not support the consolidation of the LRCA. Read more

I do not agree with the consolidation of the Lakehead Regional Conservation Authority into any other region other than its own. Thunder Bay is clearly its own region, “northwestern Ontario” and should not be lumped with conservation authorities around Lake Huron. Read more

Conservation authorities in Ontario are good the way they are. Please do not amalgamate. Your promises claims of improvement by amalgamation ring hollow. When something functions well, just leave it alone. Go fix something that needs fixing.

I fundamentally disagree with the amalgamation of conservation authorities. Individual conservation authorities are in the best positions to make decisions about the area under their jurisdiction. Read more

As an environmentally minded and active person who supports Sea Shepherd amongst many other factions I am dead set against this change . I see it as weakening an already faltering fight against development of environmentally sensitive areas . Read more

Amalgamation is a horrible idea!!!! You will lose individuality, and the needs of local communities. Keep conversation authorities local, where local officers know the needs and issues of local citizens!!!!!

The regional consolidation of Ontario’s conservation authorities is a bad idea. Local watershed directives are unique to each landscape and municipal strategies. The reason for this is arguably through the lens of developers advantage. Read more

Please leave the Hamilton Conservation Area alone. The current administration does a great job managing our gorgeous areas. They know our lands best. If you really want to help increase funding so that they can complete projects that have had to wait due to lack of funding.

I am a concerned citizen who experienced flooding in my backyard in the summer of 2024, as my property borders a creek in Mississauga that flooded during heavy summer rains. Credit Valley Conservation had been very responsive to my questions about creating a rain garden, among other concerns. Read more
