This Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline, and will take 25 years to complete. OPA70 is a better alternative and is ready to go. Read more

A full analysis of infrastructure requirements (including among things, sewage, water, public transit, schools & roads) should be performed before approval. I am very concerned about the very close location to the railway tracks where there is currently minimum protection. Read more

The economic and viability case for these MZOs and this project has collapsed. The condominium market has both collapsed and shifted, with the market no longer supporting high rise projects dominated by studios and one-bedroom units, which is the configuration this TOC proposes. Read more

When I pick up my wife or children from the GO train station in Oakville... it is total gridlock on Cross Avenue, Trafalgar, up to McCraney Street. In what scenario can we fit another few thousand residents in the area? Read more

I have followed the updates and information sessions on the proposals for Oakville Midtown to be given the zoning order of a TOC (transit oriented community). I have even delegated my thoughts at a town council meeting. Read more

We moved to Oakville because it was green enough, not too crowded and had a bit of an old town feel. We have liked that and we grew our kids here. I see the massive changes coming with density and this is not cautious foreward thinking. Read more
