I am absolutely in support of this project and others like it. We need more housing options near transit, particularly in the suburbs. As someone who doesn’t want to drive, I would love to live in a place like this that is within walking distance of a train station. Read more

I support adding housing, especially around transit, but the scale being proposed doesn’t seem reasonable. We don’t need 50-60-storey towers packed with small units when the infrastructure around them isn’t there yet. Read more

As a concerned resident of Oakville, building several multistory buildings the size being proposed (i.e. in the 50+ floor range) will create problems for our infrastructure in the area and across the town itself. Read more

At its core, this project benefits the developer — and perhaps some political interests — at the expense of real people who live in Oakville now or want to raise families there. It is harmful to public infrastructure, the environment, and community integrity. Read more

To the Minister in charge of zoning this plan in Oakville: please say no to this project. As a resident with a young family, this will impact our ability to drive around our town. Trafalgar is a nightmare already and we avoid it at all costs. There is not enough space for this project. Read more

The proposal of the TOC is a gross mismatch of the current Oakville town structure and usage. The existing residential towers near the Oakville GO station are 10-12 stories tall. Read more

This proposal by the Ford government is not taking into account the existing congestion and traffic in the area. It takes us longer to drive home from the Oakville GO station than it does to get from Clarkson to Oakville on the GO train. Read more

There is no space for such density in Oakville. The Go station is already packed with cars and traffic. This will not benefit the town of Oakville. Listen to the people that live there and city council. They do not want this type of density. The condo market is failing in the GTA why keep building?

I assuming that the Minister has reviewed the file on this proposal, but to reiterate our position, taken from the WeLoveOakville site, I emphasize these concerns: OUR TOP CONCERNS Hyper Density: It’s Gone From Bad to Worse Read more

I am strongly opposed to using an MZO to push through the TOC in the town of Oakville. This development will only benefit Doug Ford’s developer friends and not Oakville or Ontario. Read more

For the Province to step in and allow this type of development for the benefit of Doug Fords Friends is so wrong. The development is overkill and backs onto an environmentally sensitive 16 mike creek. Read more

This development will be a traffic / community disaster for Oakville. There is absolutely no way you put that many people into such a small area and expect to still be able to drive around the vicinity in any sort of timely manner. Read more

This proposal only benefits the developer. The size shows their greed. Doug Ford has consistently shown his love of his developer friends and this shows he cares more about them than the citizens of Oakville. He needs to stop it.

I am a resident of the subdivision just north of this proposed area. I am appalled that the government would override the very legitimate arguments Oakville put forth when they stopped this proposal. Traffic in this area is already VERY bad at peak commuter times. Read more

I am writing because I am worried about this plan. My main concern is whether our public services can handle it. I am not sure if our roads, healthcare, and schools will be able to catch up with the extra demand. Please consider if these services are ready before making big changes. Read more

I am a senior living in Oakville Ontario, my family has lived here for 50 years.  I would like to ask why the Province continues to not listen to our town councilors, the mayor and our residence when it comes to development of condos on Midtown's small parcel of land?  TOC is proposing a cluster of Read more

I am deeply disappointed by the provincial government’s proposed decision to override Oakville’s local council and the voices of its residents in order to force high-rise developments into our community. Read more
