First of all, I would like to extend my support for the proposed extension of the moratorium. Further to this, there are a number of considerations I would like the MOECP to consider when drafting new rules for water taking in our province: Lire davantage

The County of Wellington on behalf of the Province of Ontario has allocated to the Township of Centre Wellington over half of the population growth targets issued by the previous Liberal government. Lire davantage

I feel strongly that water taking for the purpose of filling plastic water bottles should be restricted because: * access to clean water is a human right * the value of the earth's fresh water to the common good takes priority over any possible commercial value Lire davantage

I ask the government to stop issuing permits for commercial water taking for the purpose of bottling water. I believe that water should be held in trust for people today and for future generations. I ask the government of Ontario to ban the sale of bottled water and protect our vital resource. Lire davantage

The time for bottled-water is over and MECP needs to catch up on the policies that protect our environment and as such, our lives and livelihoods. Lire davantage

I encourage complete removal of water-taking permits for bottling and export purposes. Water in the watershed is not a "resource" but is rather an essential constituent part of the public commons. Water is not a "vital resource" but is life. Lire davantage

The most essential resource we own is our water but it is more than just a resource...it is a basic need that every citizen of our country have the right to. Lire davantage

Ground water is a precious resource, one that while renewable, can take hundreds of years to replace. It should not be used for commercial exploitation (e.g. bottled water). All existing commercial licences should be terminated and no new ones approved.

I support extending the moratorium. Bottled water is a needless commodity that creates a massive waste issue since most of the bottle end up in the trash. If Nestle is granted a new permit, they should pay much more for the water. We are practically giving it away.

I heartily endorse the extension of the moratorium on the granting of water permits for bottled water companies. Our water belongs to the residents of this province, and should not be made available to bottling companies. Lire davantage

I live in Guelph and am quite concerned about the ability to have drinking water in the future. When I lived in Sarnia gor some 40 years it never was a concern as Lake Huron is huge. However, our water here is all ground water. Lire davantage

I favour extending the moratorium indefinitely and granting no more permits. The people of Ontario need the water and there is no reason for companies to make a profit off our water. Lire davantage

It is outrageous that a foreign corporation should be allowed to extract a free, life-dependent natural resource from our land and sell it back to us for profit. Lire davantage

I support the one-year extension to the moratorium on new or increased permits to take groundwater for water bottling. I also strongly support a phase-out and eventual ban on plastic water bottles themselves. Lire davantage

I am very strongly opposed to any taking of water to support the water bottling companies. Nestle is already doing so on an exterminated permit. Allow NO further extensions to water bottling companies in Ontario or Canada!!!

AS A RESIDENT OF GUELPH. IHAVE SEEN MANY CHANGES IN THE LAST 35 YEARS. SOME GOOD, SOME NOT SO GOOD .. THIS WATER PROPOSAL DOES NOT ADDRESS OUR CONCERNS. IT NEVER MAKES ANY SENSE WHEN U SELL OUR OWN WATER BACK TO US FOR PROFIT.. Lire davantage
