Please turn down this proposal. It is wrong to bend the rules and put peoples health at risk. There is a reason the limits were set at particular levels. All people deserve a safe home. I do not believe any corporation should be given permission to jeopardize that.

Our family lives in the village of Bath. Bath is directly down wind of Lennox Generating Station. We oppose the site specific standard OPG is attempting to obtain. Ontario’s emission standards should continue to become more stringent.

Could you explain to me what happens to the pollution? Say on a windless day, where does it go? Often the winds in this area are from the west. What happens to the pollution on days when the wind blows from the west, or from other directions?

I thought we were trying to clean up the air we breath. This area is trying to put in an asphalt plant that will pollute the air also. Where does it stop?
No leeway should be given to allow more pollution to be put into the air we all breathe, I don't even see how this is up for debate. They need to follow the same standards as everyone else.

OPG Lennox should be prohibited from using oil to generate electricity in order to acheive best possible minimum air pollution in surrounding municipalities.
I'm concerned about these OPG requests. It feels like a step backward: climate change is an inescapable and distressing reality, and we should be working hard to reduce emissions, not allowing special exemptions to increase them.

I do not approve of increasing pollutants into our air during this proposal. You have enough resources to figure out how to change over to cleaner fuels & systems without increasing your pollutants.

I suffer from asthma and do not want the air polluted more causing my condition to worsen. Plus think of the harmful effects on nature. The wildlife will suffer because we know pollution has a great deal to do with their health.

I live in Bath and am concerned about how high over the standards the emissions from this facility are. I think we pay enough for electricity that the plant could afford to upgrade.
I live in Bath near the LaFarge plant. It is less than a Km from me. It has taken me about five years to get them to knock down the NOX. It is still evident but not as pungent.

As a residential property owner living with family in Loyalist Township, in close proximity and downstream of prevailing winds, I strongly object to any change in air quality standard or allowable air emissions from the Lennox Generating Station.

There should be no exceptions to emissions standards. These are designed to protect human and ecological health. We can't afford to compromise either, otherwise we threaten to increase the stress on the overburdened health care system today, and threaten the health of future Ontarians.

Ontario already has a high asthma rate. And with climate change and global warming, we should be doing more to protect our environment and the air we breathe.
Just put the effort into developing more solar and wind farms along with energy conservation.

I agree with the Canadian Environmental Law Association that if OPG is granted this approval, the people who live in proximity to the generating station could suffer from adverse health impacts, such as respiratory problems, stemming from a variety of pollutants being emitted in their local area.

Consider this a letter of concern. This can not be permitted. This only effects the environment and the surrounding population negatively. Be a human on this planet. Say no to money for once.

I reside in the immediate area near the Lennox Generating Station. I have been treated with chronic bronchial asthma all my life. The increase in the pollutants into the air I breathe is, in my opinion, a heightened, direct attack on my health and well-being by your company’s operations.
