I think the question is what are you replacing the land taken with. Priority probably agriculture and hydrology. So does the land replacing the land taken serve same function as that taken? Lire davantage

I have read the CBC article (link incl below) and would like to know the following: 1. How ANY of these developers were allowed to purchase Greenbelt protected land (2005) ? Lire davantage

This proposal will not solve the housing crisis. The houses that will be built will be multi million dollar homes that no one can afford. At the very least add a stipulation that these MUST be very affordable housing. This will just exacerbate the housing crisis and add to food insecurity.

Do not sacrifice our precious Greenbelt to greedy developers! The key to more affordable and accessible housing is densification, not sprawl. I implore you to not strip away these key powers from conservation authorities and civil society. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the proposed removals from the Greenbelt for many reasons: 1. It is not necessary as there is plenty of space within existing municipal boundaries to accommodate population growth, if it is intensified and proper transit is built. Lire davantage

While I agree that we are in desperate need of housing solutions, these solutions should not be build on wetlands and areas already deemed in need of environmental protection. We need to work with local organizations like the Bruce Trail conservancy to build in a more sustainable way. Lire davantage

The greenbelt was created to protect not only nature but people. It should be strengthened. Kids who grow up close to the green world will be more successful citizens. Things that weaken nature weaken humanity.

This is NOT the way to proceed. More sprawl means more carbon pollution and expensive suburbs like Markham. Instead, partner with social housing groups to build non-market and affordable homes. Also, work with municipalities to increase densification. Thank you!

Stop destroying our green space just to line the pockets of people obscenely wealthy developers and the crooked Ford government. It’s downright shameful that you’ve allowed rich developers to exert so much influence over this province, absolutely disgusting. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt and the Escarpment need more protections, not less. We all need more green spaces, not less. There is room for housing without bulldozing green spaces. We need stricter zoning and bylaws that enforce building density and limit sprawl. Lire davantage

It's disheartening (and frustrating) the shortsightedness of the provincial housing plan. This is not the best approach - it's the approach of a backdoor business deal(s) that impacts a very select few with deep pockets and provides homes for families (also with deep pockets). Lire davantage

I'm all for protecting more land around Paris/Galt but not subtracting from anywhere else. What water shed is left isn't enough. We should be ADDING watershed to cope with increased population, not less. Cities have lots of room to build up. Especially Hamilton. Lire davantage

Sick of developers and politicians screwing with the green space. Maybe when there is no oxygen as plants and trees generate it then the business (?) types line-out Ford and Donald Trump will finally take notice as they breathe their last breaths.....
