The greenbelt is protected to prevent development and to support natural habitat for the endangered species in Ontario. Development needs to be prevented and stopped on this land

The Green Belt is a legacy for future generations who will pay dearly for the environmental degradation and destruction that people living now and in the past have inflicted on them. The very least we can do is continue to protect this precious green space. Lire davantage

Strongly against the destruction of ecologically significant and sensitive land that cannot be replaced. The land quality being replaced is not of equal value. The town of Erin was not properly consulted. The Greenbelt provides homes for sensitive species. Lire davantage

This is a terrible and harmful idea clearly only being proposed to enrich Doug Ford's developer buddies and donors. It will create more traffic, less green space to enjoy and will not create more affordable housing. Lire davantage

Farmland, woodlots, and green spaces are valuable and irreplaceable to society. Removal of farmland especially is a threat to food security for ourselves, and the rest of Canada Both presently and for future generations. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. Lire davantage

It seems to me that nobody is happy about this proposal, excepting those who would benefit from the exploitation of some of the last greenspaces left in Southern Ontario. What makes cities desirable to live in, thereby increasing home value, is the access to healthy green spaces. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to this proposed plan. Hands off the Greenbelt!! It was created to benefit all Ontarians. Building more houses and sprawl is not going to fix the housing crisis. Lire davantage

I am so sad that the government is using the housing crisis as a way to increase profits for developers. The greenbelt land will be cheaper for developers to build up as opposed to remediating land within urban limits. Lire davantage

The growing season is short in Canada. South western Ontario Greenbelt Area is finite in its land mass. It is essential to maintain for hundreds of reasons. New builds do not have to occur within the precious Greenbelt. Lire davantage

Simply put, the removal of designated areas from the existing Greenbelt for development is environmentally disastrous as it will impact more than the footprint being so declassified. All evidence supports this conclusion. Lire davantage

As a Professional Engineer under the Province of Ontario, Greenbelt lands cannot be swapped with other lands as a form of equivalence. Opening the Greenbelt for development will have lasting longterm detrimental effects on our drinking water and air quality. Lire davantage

"We are going to make sure we keep every single promise", "I was clear during the campaign. I listened to the people and we are not touching the Greenbelt. We will protect it and all its beauty" - Doug Ford June, 2022. I didn't realize promises and people meant to his developer friends. Lire davantage

We are totally disagree to use the greenbelt for future urban developments. As human being we need to protect and conserve these green areas for our survival and for future generations. Lire davantage

It is a disgrace that the Ford Government is planning to infringe on the Greenbelt. The best farmland in all of Canada has already been swallowed up by urban sprawl, yet the Ford government wants to take more of it for housing. Lire davantage

This entire bill is an affront to decades of careful planning. It will radically change how our communities look, regress us in terms of good planning practices. There is more than enough land in urban areas. Including Torontos north and east ends of North York and Scarborough. Lire davantage

As resident of Hamilton I view the proposed changes to the Greenbelt as utterly ineffective in achieving the stated goals. If the government wants to work on the housing crisis there are many options that don't include impinging on prime agricultural land. Lire davantage
