I think that the dump is a terrible idea. We should not have one close to town. I hope that you listen to the actual community who lives here and not put a dump in the area. It’ll ruin the area.
Personally I don't think anyone would have a problem with this if it wasn't for York 1 wanting to greatly increase the scale of the operation and they want to run 24hrs a day 7 days a week. The original site is 25 acres.

I am against the proposal to allow YORK1 to develop and reopen the old closed Dresden dump site. This site is 1km away from a historic town, and Dresden has 2 public schools within 2 kms.

My concerns are related to the timing of recent changes to environmental and zoning regulations that correlate to the purchase of this property and proposal for expansion of the facility and purposes.

Please do don’t let this happen!!!! I cannot believe this is even remotely possible so close to a river, creek and town!! How can this possibly pass?? Thus should be out of town at least 3-5 klms away from population or water.
I am commenting on my own personal issue against the York1’s plan. Not only to build a landfill project in this area but to devastate our entire community and beyond.

I object to the York1 proposal based on the negative environmental impacts to the Sydenham River watershed and the detrimental effects to the local area. The whole town of Dresden is against the York1 proposal and I submit the reasons below in the supporting documents section.

The people of Dresden do not want this dump at all. It is too close to town and Molly's Creek, which eventually flows into the Sydenham River. There are many endangered species that live in the Sydenham and this landfill could potentially put them at risk.

Our town is very concerned regarding York 1s proposed site 1 km from town,1.5 km to our local high school and 2.5km to our elementary school.

This is not an appropriate location for a landfill.
Dresden is not responsible for Toronto's lack of planning for garbage disposal nor should they bear all the risk of Toronto's garbage. This is a farming community with many tractors, wagons, harvesters, combines, and planters on roads.

I feel a Regenerative Recycling Facility is a good idea, as long there are guarantees that there will be restrictions that there will never be any organic residential food waste allowed.
