The Ford government has shown by Ontario Place and The Science Center that they can't be trusted to uphold the already in place guidelines for endangered species or environmental protection let alone giving them free reign to ignore guidelines and assesments.. Lire davantage

This is dishonest and gives developers free reign to do what they want. We need to live in balance with the harmony and the endangered species act as is the last remaining hope for our wildlife. Lire davantage

This proposal is a complete dismantling of science based protection of Ontario's Biodiversity and is extremely detrimental to the health of our natural landscape. Lire davantage

The Government should not be able to remove protected species at its discresion - this will simply allow developers to build anywhere and no species will be protected.

The approach to the protection and conservation of species at risk SHOULD be complicated, and it should take a lot of effort and expertise to decide how a new building development impacts the ecology of our province. Lire davantage

It is outrageous that a government that has shown time and again that it is incapable of doing due diligence in establishing how to safely and/or efficiently begin construction projects is trying to "cut red tape," around endangered species in this province. Lire davantage

To whom this may concern, I am writing to express that I am extremely opposed to the proposed changes to the endangered species act. These protections are in place for a reason and need to be upheld. Lire davantage

So simply registering online allows a company or person to do what they want? Do they just check a box and claim there are no endangered species in the area that they know of? If they lie, it could not be proven in court so registering is useless. Lire davantage

The Ontario government should not be interfering in independent, science-based committees such as the COSSARO. The leadership of the current Ontario government has shown itself to prioritize short-term economic and political benefits. Lire davantage

This proposal is appalling. The protection of Canada’s environment should be one of our top priorities, as our biodiversity is one of our greatest treasures. Lire davantage

Replace the ontario trillium logo with a dollar sign because thats what this act shows is priority. Dumb act that only benefits a few and will make life harder for the average citizen.

I am a scientist. There is great danger in making changes to this act. We can never bring species or habits back after they have been destroyed. The current system may take time- but it is far more important to protect species then it is to make a fast buck. Lire davantage

Thinking that this approach puts development and economic gain over protection and long term conservation efforts. Wildlife and it's related habitats are fragile and once disturbed they are vulnerable. Lire davantage

This is absolute garbage which places the profits of developers ahead of preservation of our environment. This should treated as illegal instead the government is pushing an agenda to essentially "pave over anything". Absolutely disgusting.

As an Ontarian, I know that animals need space. This proposal redefines the area that is classified as animal living space, and it makes no sense. Lire davantage

This is a deplorable act brought on by a corrupt administration and PREMIER! Only has his pocket and friends in mind! It is crucial we keep protecting species and land at risk! Stop going backwards!

My summary of why this is deeply troubling: 1. Undermines Science-Based Protections: It allows politicians to override independent scientific assessments, opening the door to decisions driven by politics or industry, not ecology. 2. Guts Habitat Protections: Lire davantage
