The existing habitat definition and protections of the Endangered Species Act should be retained. They provide a clear approach to conserving Ontario’s most at-risk birds, and any issues of delays or lack of clarity can be dealt with through improvements in process.

I am against the proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and the proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025. As a conservation professional and lifelong nature lover, these changes would threaten Ontario's biodiversity. Lire davantage

I do not support these changes. If we do not protect our endangered species then biodiversity will be impacted. It is well documented that threats to biodiversity are also threats to our economy. I believe this bill will harm the environment and the economy in the long run.

I strongly oppose Bill 5 as undemocratic; no regard for rule of law and citizens rights. It disregards the Greenbelt; the Environment; Endangered Species; Wildlife and their right to live and our Wetlands (which 70% have already been destroyed). Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the changes, including to reframe the definition of habitat, remove the concept of 'harass' from species protections, remove the requirements to develop recovery strategies and management plans, allow a registration-first approach and give the government the discretion to remove pr Lire davantage

The decision to strip back environmental protections during a time when our planet is slowly dying due to reckless extraction of its resources is absolutely ludicrous. No government should have this power to treat the earth with such disregard. Lire davantage

For too long Doug Ford and his elitist pals have run amok with zoning regulations; their irresponsibility with environmental matters will impact generations of Ontarians in the future. Bill 5, if enacted, would allow the provincial government to fully ignore any municipal and provincial laws. Lire davantage

I am writing as a concerned Ontario resident who values our provinces biodiversity. Bill 5 threatens to weaken protections for species at risk and their habitats – protections that have been established through decades of scientific research and conservation efforts. Lire davantage

Moose Cree recognizes your government’s interest in “cutting red tape” to accelerate mining and infrastructure projects in response to President Trump’s tariffs and threats against Canada’s economy—however, development cannot occur in Moose Cree’s Homeland without our consent. Lire davantage
