I do not support these changes. If we do not protect our endangered species then biodiversity will be impacted. It is well documented that threats to biodiversity are also threats to our economy. I believe this bill will harm the environment and the economy in the long run.

I strongly oppose Bill 5 as undemocratic; no regard for rule of law and citizens rights. It disregards the Greenbelt; the Environment; Endangered Species; Wildlife and their right to live and our Wetlands (which 70% have already been destroyed). Read more

I strongly oppose the changes, including to reframe the definition of habitat, remove the concept of 'harass' from species protections, remove the requirements to develop recovery strategies and management plans, allow a registration-first approach and give the government the discretion to remove pr Read more

The decision to strip back environmental protections during a time when our planet is slowly dying due to reckless extraction of its resources is absolutely ludicrous. No government should have this power to treat the earth with such disregard. Read more

For too long Doug Ford and his elitist pals have run amok with zoning regulations; their irresponsibility with environmental matters will impact generations of Ontarians in the future. Bill 5, if enacted, would allow the provincial government to fully ignore any municipal and provincial laws. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections. I oppose short cuts for industry. I want thorough consultation with First Nation communities for industry projects in their traditional territories, and approval only if they consent. Read more
