I don’t support the amalgamation of the Conservation Authorities and am against its implementation. It is imperative that local authorities have influence over decisions regarding macro and microcosms within its boundaries.

Local communities are best equipped to identify and prioritize environmental needs. Consolidation of these regions limits the ability of communities to have influence over their local ecosystems and should not be done.
The HCA and other conservation authorities in Ontario absolutely should stay the way they are. Individually they support the conservation needs of their region.

Leave Lake Simcoe conservation Authority as it is. This will not benefit the lake in the ecosystem to merge. Resident around the are very much against this.

I have serious concerns with this proposal and I am writing to let you know I am 100 percent against this amalgamation idea. You have not presented a viable business case, offered any funding or consulted with the people who do this important work.

The proposal to consolidate Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities into the following 7 regional conservation authorities may benefit individuals submitting permit applications but will likely have disastrous effects on communities.

I do NOT support this merger. As my money goes to support conservation authorities, I want to keep it local in my own watershed to support efforts locally. There are many issues with this merger:
1. The Province has not provided evidence showing why the merger is needed.

Who is the genius that thinks merging the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority with the Huron group is good idea?
If you insist on merging the LRCA with another group, why not choose the Northeastern Ontario RCA and possibly rename it to Northern Ontario RCA.

As a resident of the Municipality of Neebing, I am OPPOSED to the Province’s proposed amalgamation of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) with six other Southern Ontario Conservation Authorities to form the “Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority”.
