Philosophical statements about building a better cycling infrastructure in Ontario only go so far. Such statements have to bepartnered with funding. There is a CRITICAL need for public education -  skills and knowledge  education for cyclists , but also for motor vehicle operators.

To make better use of the cycling infrastructure year round, I propose that covered bikeways are built in larger cities to major destinations to promote four season cycling and continued use even in inclement weather.

The single most important thing to do is build infrastructure for cycling - and active transportation more generally - to make our streets safer for everyone.

I support this initiative. Many communities are  built around provincial highways so there is no chance of them becoming cycling friendly unless the provincial government is on board with making its highways cycling friendly.
