I do not support the further regulation on Canadian Farmers. Most cervid based farms are responsible small business owners who understand that additional cases of CWD will also impact their business. They have a vested interest in controlling and eliminating CWD from captive deer herds. Lire davantage

I am concerned about lure attractants as I have seen what appears to be prohibited ones in big box stores ( eg. Wal-Mart ) during big game season in the North Bay area. I would suggest more policing of such stores. Personally I do not see the need for such items. Thanks William

I'm interested on shedding light on the proposal pertaining to the Chronic Wasting Disease Prevention and Response plan. As a member of the Quality Deer Management Association, I feel the need to give my input for the betterment of the deer herd here in Ontario. Lire davantage

Great idea! Wild game farming is not in the best interest of anyone! It has been proven time and time again, that wild animals do not react well when in a farmed environment! Lire davantage

I support this proposal wholeheartedly! This risk to the deer family and agricultural exports are too great not to act upon CWD. Harold

The simplest and cheapest way to prevent and/or contain CWD is to ban deer farms in Ontario. The risk to Ontario’s deer population and associated cultural and economic benefits is so large than decisive steps have to be taken . Lire davantage

I did not know about this disease until I read about this morning. The information posted by the Ontario government indicates that this disease has not been found in the cervid population in Ontario. However, the CDC in B.C. indicates that it has been found in in Ontario. Lire davantage

A ban on baiting for hunting of cervidae should also be implemented. I'm an avid hunter myself, but baiting deer concentrates them to a very specific area with many different individuals frequenting the same site, eating from the same device. Lire davantage

Thank you MNRF ! Ontario Govt! During this Coved-19 example where a new corona virus moved from distant animals to human animals and spread globally within a few months --meaningful action on CWD is needed Lire davantage

I recommend that there NOT be any use of bait - grain, deer feed, alfalfa etc... for the purposes of luring deer to bait for hunting. It pulls in deer and concentrates them to a specific location and increases the opportunities to transmit disease as deer are in close contact with each other. Lire davantage

These measures should have been put into place years ago. This disease is in all areas surrounding Ontario and we've got to do everything we can to keep it out. This disease will destroy our wild ungulate populations in Ontario and could get into cattle herds as well. Lire davantage

I am an avid hunter in northwestern Ontario as many other people . I also guide non residents hunters in wild management area 10 and have been very successful at it. I’m in the bush all the time and have seen the decrease in deer herds due to our harsh winters. Lire davantage
