Tearing down a bike lane that was just built has to be the dumbest waste of public funds I can possibly imagine. This proposal is the most braindead way that the Provence could be spending its time - fix the healthcare system, stop micromanaging bike lanes in Toronto! Lire davantage

Absolutely stupid to build Highway 413 right through the Oak Ridges Moraine and destroy the environment in the process. And a bike path is not safe on a noisy highway. Even if a fence is put up, it is still full of exhaust. Lire davantage

This proposal is yet another ham fisted attempt by this incompetent provincial government to intervene and impede the sustainable growth of the cities in our province. Lire davantage

This bill will kill Ontarians. It's that simple. If you take away the bike lanes, you are killing people, and doing nothing to help traffic. Please stop hurting us.

Bike lanes are essential corridors for commuters that keep people safe, supports local businesses and contribute to a vibrant, modern city. Eliminating bike lanes will not ease traffic and it will endanger lives. Lire davantage

The provincial government should not be overstepping into municipal territory, and this is a massive waste of public resources, particularly in scenarios where labour has already been spent in implementing the new bike lanes. Lire davantage

There is absolutely NO proof that removing bike lanes will in any way reduce congestion. There IS evidence that building more comprehensive bike infrastructure, along with other public transportation can significantly reduce congestion. Lire davantage

As a cyclist who rides my bike year round, bicycle lanes are extremely important to me. It is important to have enough space to create a robust barrier between you and the traffic. I have already been hit by one car and had many others cut me off. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose Bill 212 due to its detrimental impact on the environment. The proposed measures will significantly increase pollution, degrade natural ecosystems, and contribute to climate change. Lire davantage

This would increase not decrease car traffic, my data proves it. I live on yonge & can see the bike lanes from my balcony. I counted the amount of bikers and cars going through in an exactly 1 hour period on 8 different occasions, at different periods throughout the day. Lire davantage

I am a doctor that works on University Ave and I cycle from High Park using the Bloor bike lanes everyday. I am able to do so only because of the protected bike lanes. I have the means to drive my car but I don’t, which alleviates congestion. Lire davantage

The provincial government has no business mettling with municipal matters of this nature. This is a clear overreach of government power. Municipalities know what is best for their own locales. Lire davantage

Having to justify the impact of a bike lane on vehicle traffic is backwards thinking. If bike and pedestrian infrastructure causes those things to be more desirable and driving less so, GOOD, that's the point. Lire davantage

I would like to comment on the proposed legislation. Cities, especially big cities should have the autonomy to decide the details such as bike lanes on their own. Isn't this outside provincial responsibilities? Lire davantage

Wasting money by removing existing infrastructure is not at all how I want my tax dollars spent. Adding more cars back onto a road does not speed up traffic. Lire davantage
