As a resident of downtown Toronto who lives on Bloor street I was very happy to see the installation of bike lanes along that route. I think it provides a safer option for cyclists and this compelled me to begin using a bicycle as my primary mode of transport. Lire davantage

I would love to ride my bike to work & not drive, but I don't have access to bike lanes on my route & do not feel safe. We NEED MORE BIKE LANES, not les!! Taking them away is absolutely crazy. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes is a terrible and short sighted idea. This will move us back by decades. Studies after studies have shown that bike lanes are not the main factor in contributing to gridlocks. Instead, they help to create a vibrant and healthy city. Lire davantage

This is absurd. - Bikes can move out of the way faster than cars for emergency vehicles - Bike lanes improve profitability for businesses that they are in front of + encourage a safer pedestrian feel - Bike lanes need to be direct so taking a bike is viable Lire davantage

Bike lanes are important to every city. We are spending too much time being creative when all we have to do is look to other cities like New York and Montreal who have had successful bike lane projects for years. Similar climate to ours, as well. Lire davantage

I have serious concerns regarding the proposed restrictions on , and removal of bike lanes. This is not only a misuse of resources, but is also unlikely to yield meaningful improvements in traffic flow. Lire davantage

The province should be installing MORE bike lanes. There is no research to back up this legislation, bike lanes reduce traffic and make all road users safer. Year after year the provinces focuses on building more and more infrastructure for cars and where has it lead. Lire davantage

Biking infrastructure is key in fighting congestion and climate change. As a province we should be encouraging as many people as possible to use active transportation whenever possible. This bill is backwards thinking. Lire davantage

This bill does not care for the tax payers, environment, public health, nor science. It has been proven over and over again that one-more lane does not solve traffic congestion. Lire davantage

This is a terrible idea. I have recently committed to "stop making excuses" about riding my bike because I realised that I was part of the problem. The problem is that each car only has one person in it. This is because mass transportation methods are less convenient than driving. Lire davantage

This is terrible legislation on multiple levels, and is a tiny portion of an endless series of decisions by this government that has caused me, a nurse with an entire career ahead of them, to feel like there is no hope for any positive future for myself or family in this province. Lire davantage

This legislation is unwarranted and will expend resources that are needed elsewhere, such as education, healthcare, or public transit. First, it is an overreach of provincial power where the province is spending unnecessary time and resources micro managing municipalities. Lire davantage

As a biker, I am so glad this bill has come through. Bike lanes on major streets like Yonge, Bloor etc is insane and dangerous for everyone, but especially bikers. The bike lanes on University and bloor are comically wide. Lire davantage

It's absolutely ridiculous that we're even looking at bike lanes right now when there are other, more pressing things Ontarians need our government to focus on. Lire davantage

Thank you very much for proposing this legislation. I am a Toronto resident that firmly supports it. My experience with the Toronto council is that they did not appropriately do their legal diligence to explore the impact of these bike lanes on those with physical mobility issues. Lire davantage

This bill is exactly the wrong direction if the province's goal is to reduce gridlock. Every study on traffic has shown that more lanes may temporarily reduce congestion, but new trips not previously taken will quickly fill available capacity. Lire davantage

We are against removal of bike lanes and the consideration of vehicle traffic over bike lanes. This is extremely unsafe to degress infrastructure for bikes on main routes. Removal of bike lanes will not decrease traffic congestion. There is ample proof of this. Lire davantage

Leave Toronto bike lanes alone! Cars cause congestion. They also kill pedestrians and cyclists at alarming rates in this province. We need to invest in safer roads and green modes of transportation. That means investing in bike lanes and transit. Lire davantage

Again the Ford government is taking a position of ignorance, ignoring every study worldwide showing more bike lanes alleviate traffic and generate more profits for the local economy. Lire davantage
